WordPress Update: Icons and Testimonials Widget 3/29/16
On 3/29/16 our Consumer Solutions team upgraded your BoomTown website to WordPress Version 4.4. What does this mean? Some sweet new features to help your online brand!
Icons
Now you can create, and add your own custom icons for your BoomTown website. Icons show up in browser tabs, and when you save a website to your phone. These little squares are just a nice touch to help give your site a professional, and unique look.
How to:
- Submit your 512×512 .png icon to [email protected]
- We’ll take care of the rest!
Note: please keep in mind that these are very small icons on most devices, and most large logos/marks may not look great scaled down. Consult a design professional for creating your icons if you’re not sure.
Testimonials Widget
Upgrading to 4.4 has enabled a few new upgrades to the testimonials widget.
Multiple widgets: In addition to the Testimonials Widget Slider (now called Testimonials Slider in the WordPress), it is now possible to display recent testimonials in a list (Recent Testimonials), all testimonials as a list (Testimonials Archive), in a drop down list of categories (Testimonials Categories), and in a tag cloud (Testimonials Tag Cloud).
Updates to settings: The new testimonials slider gives us some flexibility in the animation type, speed, and whether to expose a play/pause button.
